The project that we develop
from 2005 consists of the improvement of the living
conditions of disabled minors of Bamenda's zone to the
northwest of Cameroon. In these moments we have a
temporary refuge in which 30 girls coexist with some
type of physical disability and to whom there is
provided education and sanitary assistance, the latter
in the measure in which he(she) arranges of means.
In vacation period we treat of that los/as minors with
not severe disabilities come back to his(her,your)
houses and are attended by his(her,your) families as
form of integration of los/as same / same in the society.
The philosophy of the refuge is not to gather all minor
los/as to los/as that nobody wants, but it is an
educational center for the population of the zone in
which they learn that a disability already should be
physical or psychic it(he,she) must not suppose for the
one who suffers the social exclusion. One of the
principal aims(lenses) of negative Zero for the future
is the education in the bosom of the families in order
which these take charge of those minors with slight
disabilities, reserving thus the refuge for those more
serious cases and that need a special attention the one
that the own(proper) families do not arrange.
In this respect, links have
been established by the political authorities and social
representatives of the zone, in order to obtain
his(her,your) collaboration in the development of
CEFED's project in Holy.
Also visits have been
effected(been carried out) to several medical centers as
Bamenda's Baptist Hospital (Mbingo Baptist Hospital),
Hospital St. Joseph de Sayocah directed by Franciscan
Sisters, the Hospital St. Mary directed by Spanish
Siervas de Maria and a meeting with the doctor David
Nchande, the director of the clinic Orthopaedic Center
in Douala, in order all of them to establishing links of
mutual collaboration.
The near(next) challenges of
Cero Negativo will
be, on the one hand the improvement of the conditions of
the minor users of the house of Holy and for other one
the establishment of agreements with the mentioned
medical centers.
